Team ‘Social Worth’ hits the Open Road & Track for Social Profitability

Coming together to raise funds and awareness

In addition to sharing our passion and commitment through our work on Social Worth, Geoff and I are incredibly fortunate to work with a team of marketing and communications professionals who are philanthropic, charitable, do-gooders.

So while we normally talk about what others are doing to bring together great companies to support great causes, at this time we would like to take a moment to get personal and gloat a little about the amazing members of The Collective, Intent Media and RAW Society and what they are doing to achieve Social Profitability.

We often come together, to not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk. Because we believe!

And we are at it again.

This weekend, Geoff will hit the open road as he participates in The Ride to Conquer Cancer, an annual charity fundraiser held in various locations across Canada and Australia.

It is organized as a non-competitive cycling event that sees thousands of riders travel over 200 kilometres over two days. It was first held in the Toronto area in 2008 and raised $14 million for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Following the success of the first ride, the event spread to Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver beginning in 2009 and to Brisbane in 2011.

In the four Canadian events in 2015, 10,000 riders raised over $40 million making it the number one peer-to-peer fundraising brand in Canada for the second year in a row.

It is not too late to support Geoff in his fundraising efforts.

And just a week later, team ‘Social Worth’, led by yours truly, will hit the track at the Relay for Life in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

The first Relay For Life event in Canada was held in 1999 and raised $85,000. In total, Relay For Life has raised over $496.5 million for the Canadian Cancer Society. These funds are used to support Canada’s most promising cancer research and vital support services for people with cancer and their families. In 2015, 331 communities across the county united at Relay for Life events raising over $34 million to advance cancer research and support Canadians living with cancer.
